If a fund member passes away or becomes unable to work, their children, under the age of 18, are entitled to child pension. The same applies to the children of disability pension recipients as well as the children of retirement pension recipients if, until receiving retirement pension, they have received a disability pension.

Good to know

  • Requirements for payment of child pension

The requirement for payment of child pension is that the deceased spouse/parent has paid into the fund for 2 years in the previous 3 years or for at least 6 months in the previous year before death.

If you are disabled and receive a disability pension from the funds, you are entitled to a child’s pension if you have paid into the fund for 2 years in the last 3 years or you are entitled to extrapolation. The right to a child’s pension always follows the same rates as a disability pension and is paid for children born before the loss of energy or in the next 12 months thereafter.

  • Who receives child pension?

Child pension due to death is paid into the child’s account.

Child pension due to disability is paid to the disability pensioner.

  • Can I see which funds I have rights in?

In the Pension Portal on Gildi’s fund member website, you can see the rights you have earned in mutual insurance funds that have been paid into.
